Blood, Smoke and Mirrors

Free - 670 pages

Warning: Adult Content

Even a bad witch deserves a second chance.
Wrongly accused of using her magic to harm, the closest Catherine Baker comes to helping others is serving their coffee. Life as an outcast is nothing new, thanks to her father’s reputation, but the injustice stings. Especially since the man she loved turned her in.
Now the man has the gall to show up and suggest she become the next Titania? She’d rather wipe that charming grin off his face with a pot of hot java to the groin.
Alexander Duquesne has never faltered in his duties as a guardian—until now. The lingering guilt over Cat’s exile and the recent death of his best friend have shaken his dedication. With the murder of the old Titania, the faerie realm teeters on the brink of chaos. His new orders: keep Cat alive at all costs.
Hunted by a powerful stranger intent on drawing her into an evil web, Cat reluctantly accepts Lex’s protection and the resurrected desire that comes along with it. Lex faces the fight of his life to keep her safe…and win her back. If they both survive.
Warning: This book contains one tough and snarky witch, one gorgeous guardian, explicit blood drinking, magician sex, gratuitous violence against vampires and troublemaking Shakespearean faeries.

The Vampire Castle

Free - 332 pages

Elspeth is eleven days from her eleventh birthday, desperately hoping her mother will fetch her from Rutherfords school, when a welfare officer arrives to take her to her grandfather, Sir Runstable of Whitterburn Hall, whom she has never met.
Her grandfather tells her she is heir to a vast inheritance. But in order to claim her rights, she has to learn the secret codes of the Shadow Garden – a set of squares laid out like a chess board in the grounds that offers extreme danger if you step on the shadowed squares and even worse consequences if you step backwards.
But before she can learn the codes of the garden, Elspeth makes the mistake of stepping backwards. This unfortunate slip takes her into a dark world of magic, mystery and danger. She meets vampire Count Dragool whose past wives populate the dungeons of his castle in the form of ghouls, and whose children are a collection of violent young vampires.
When the castle begins to collapse, Elspeth escapes and finds her way back to Whitterburn. Sir Runstable assumes Elspeth will return to the Shadow Garden to learn its secrets and her true identity, but Elspeth has had enough of the strange world of Whitterburn Hall and her equally odd grandfather, and refuses. All she wants is a settled life with her mother.
Unwittingly, however, she has brought back a talisman, a key that once applied, will unlock more secrets about Whitterburn and her extraordinary destiny. With the talisman in her hand, Elspeth realizes her adventures were real – and not yet over.

The series is also supported by a website that will feature interactive content as the series develops. Currently Vinny fans can purchase Vinny t shirts and read about the characters on the website, vinnythevampire.com.

The motto for the series is R.I.P., which stands for Read In Peace. The stories will encourage kids to read as well as offer some educational content within the text. A dose or two or character building is thrown in for good measure.
