In the End

Free - 96 pages

Originally, when ‘When we Love’ was first published as The Great Divide in 2009, it had a different ending. Recently I had to re-write ‘When we Love’ from first person, present tense to third person, past tense and decided during this process to go back to the way the story was supposed to be from the beginning.

This decision left me with a little over 10,000 words, which I wrote for the international Amazon Breakthrough Novel Awards 2011 (in which The Great Divide was a quarter finalist). I thought it should have a happy ending, however, this turned ‘When we Love’ into a story it was never meant to be, because sometimes in the end, When we Love, there isn’t always a happy ever after.

This short story could be called the alternative ending to ‘When we Love’.
